Designed to pitch around 480Hz*. The band style has a bigger bore than the Solo version. This, along with oval holes from Low A to E gives greater projection and power, also providing the ability for fine tuning without losing any volume.
The solo Mac-1 chanter has traditional round finger holes, stable top hand and excellent Piobreached high G.
These chanters will produce and strong clear tone, with crisp gracenotes and an incredibly stable top hand. The rich harmonics produce a powerful sound with even volume throughout the scale.
All Mac-1 chanters have a threaded reed seat, and are available in African Blackwood or Delrin.

Standard Chanter. The band style, Blackwood chanter or Delrin chanter, has a steeper taper in the bore, & larger finger holes than the solo style. This gives a more robust sound, for more power & volume. The pitch of this chanter is approx. 475Hz.* The reed seats are threaded making fine tuning adjustments much easier than ever before. The solo chanter is designed for a sweeter type sound & is available in African Blackwood, delrin or Cocobolo. This chanter has complex harmonics, even volume, stable Hi G and clear projection.
